Maison Guillemette Wins the 2025 DHL International Fashion Talent Prize

The French fashion scene is celebrating a remarkable victory as Maison Guillemette has been crowned the winner of the prestigious 2025 DHL International Fashion Talent Prize. This achievement marks a significant milestone for founder Guillemette Bataille and her brand, which has captivated the fashion industry with its unique journey from bridal accessories to sophisticated ready-to-wear collections.

A Competitive Journey to Victory

The fifth edition of the DHL International Fashion Talent Prize, organized in partnership with the Fédération Française du Prêt-à-Porter Féminin (FFPAPF), brought together three exceptional finalists. Maison Guillemette competed against Bourrienne Paris X and Maison Lecomte Flament, with the final presentations taking place on January 10, 2025. The awards ceremony followed on January 29, where Maison Guillemette emerged victorious, joining the ranks of previous winners including 71bis, Mapoésie, Emile et Ida, and Rowen Rose.

From Bridal Crowns to Fashion Collections

What makes Maison Guillemette’s story particularly compelling is its unconventional origins. The brand didn’t start in ready-to-wear fashion at all. Guillemette Bataille initially focused on creating delicate bridal accessories, specializing in brooches and flower crowns for brides. The brand even collaborated with luxury house Guerlain on their “Le Muguet” fragrance collection, showcasing its early success in the accessories market.

The turning point came in 2016 when Bataille designed a black top with removable components. The piece unexpectedly resonated with customers, opening a new creative direction for the brand. Today, Maison Guillemette operates its own atelier where approximately 30% of its collections are produced, offering a versatile wardrobe that includes tops, trousers, and dresses. The brand has maintained its connection to its roots through the “collection blanche,” which continues to serve brides with elegant, sophisticated pieces.

What the Prize Means

Winning the DHL International Fashion Talent Prize comes with substantial benefits designed to accelerate international growth. Maison Guillemette will receive €10,000 in DHL shipping vouchers, crucial for expanding distribution networks across global markets. Additionally, the brand gains access to personalized support for international shipping and e-commerce strategies from DHL Express France.

The FFPAPF will provide expert guidance through a tailored advisory program focused on international expansion strategy. This comprehensive support package aims to help Maison Guillemette navigate the complexities of entering new markets and building a sustainable global presence.
